I played 9 holes last week and got my new worst score for the year: +7

18 holes last night with Kevin at Rosland:

4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 = +3
3, 3, 3, 5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 = +2

= +5 overall. I beat Kevin by one or two. I have a new most embarrassing hole now: hole 5, my second round, I drove right up by the basket (about 15-20 ft out); missed my birdie by a mile, missed my par completely, hit the basket on my bogie shot, and tapped in for an easy double (sounds like high-school).

This morning Kevin picked me up at 8a.m. for a quick 9 (that's what they used to call me). I made some Silky Black Folgers coffee, he brought pumpkin bread, I brought banana bread:

Kevin beat me with an even par.

We met a guy named Jack, who seemed a couple of years younger than us. We let him play with us since we were going slow with our coffee and bread. He seemed excited about the game since he just started last fall. We told him we might see him out there again if we play before work.

27 holes

Rosland. 27 holes with Kevin. I got +8. Kevin got +14. my three rounds of 9 broke down like this: 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 4, 3, 3, 3 = +4

no highlights or lowlights for me. I'm not sure how Kevin's score brokedown. He did do 1 stroke better then me on the first 9 though. 

a cold evening for disc golf

Last night I played holes 1-5 while I waited for Kevin (and Loran); Hope was running. I was doing terrible, but I knew it was just practice though. Kevin and I both got +5 five in the cold wind. We played sudden death, and after us tying hole 1 again with bogies, we threw to hole 5 basket from hole 1 basket and I beat him by two throws. 

Today I played (attempted) three or four custom holes at Rosland. I am trying to make that course into a 18 hole course. It's going to be quite the feat. 

early season competition.

Kevin and I played 36 holes at Roslan today. We decided to compete according to two 18 holes rounds. Kevin won both of them; +5 to +7, and +1 to +4. We played the first 18 and then biked to Subway where we talked about our bikes and how I should upgrade and tune mine up like his. Then we went back and played the other 18. So officially, he won. But here is the round by round breakdown; since Roslan is a 9 hole course. First 9, Kevin got +5 and I got +3. Second 9 Kevin played Even and I got +4. Third 9 Kevin again got Even and I got +6. Fourth 9 Kevin got +1 and I got -2. 

Kevin had the best 18 hole round with +1

I had the worst 18 holes round with +7

Kevin's average for the 36 holes was +1.5 per 9 hole round

My average for 36 holes was +2.7 per 9 hole round

Kevin's total for 36 holes was +6

My total for 36 holes was +11

I had the best 9 hole round with -2

I also had the worst 9 hole round with +6

Highlights and interesting details:

-Kevin skipped his drive off the ground on hole 9 and hit the basket; he made his birdie putt. 

-I drove right up to the box surrounding the basket on hole 8 and made my birdie. I also drove to the basket on hole 9 right after that to make another birdie to get my -2. 

-On my +6 round, I threw my drive straight into a tree about 30 yards in front of me and it bounced off a 2nd tree before it rolled all the way back to the tee box and stopped right at my feet. Ridiculous. 

-I think that Kevin and I each got a double bogie once for the day.

Friday, April 3rd. Roslan. I played by myself and got +1 on 9 holes. 

last pre-season practice

Saturday, March 28th, Kevin and I played 9 holes, I beleive, at Roslan. I think he beat me 0 to +5 or something. I played terrible, even though I was putting really good. I seemed to gain some confidence and was just flicking those putts high and fast and hit it every time. 

The next day, on Sunday, Kevin and I played another 9 holes at Roslan and I beat him +1 to +3 I beleive, or maybe it was +3 to +5. I don't remember for sure. 

I was hoping to play disc golf in Florida, but we didn't find a course, so I just practiced some throws on the beach. It wasn't as fun without any reference, like a basket, to give you an idea about distance or accuracy.
